Why Genuine Conservatives Are Leaving The GOP

A post to Daily Kos: The Republican party in reality is a broad coalition of White Supremacists, anti-democracy authoritarian fascists, and religious fanatics that can only be described as a cult. The conservatives made a deal with the devil in the 1960’s with the Nixon “southern strategy” to bring in the racists, and then Reagan grabbed the anti-choice people in the 80’s, and finally, Gingrich brought in the anti-democracy fascists where power became the goal at any costs.

  1. Gingrich was the worst of the lot. Note that his ideas are flourishing, with McSally calling Sinema a traitor.

    VOTE BLUE!

  2. The soul of our nation is at stake!!!!

‘It took seven minutes for Jamal Khashoggi to die, a Turkish source who has listened in full to an audio recording of the Saudi journalist’s last moments told Middle East Eye.
Khashoggi was dragged from the Consul General’s office at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul and onto the table of his study next door, the Turkish source said.
Horrendous screams were then heard by a witness downstairs, the source said.
“The consul himself was taken out of the room. There was no attempt to interrogate him. They had come to kill him,” the source told MEE.
The screaming stopped when Khashoggi – who was last seen entering the Saudi consulate on 2 October – was injected with an as yet unknown substance.
Salah Muhammad al-Tubaigy, who has been identified as the head of forensic evidence in the Saudi general security department, was one of the 15-member squad who arrived in Ankara earlier that day on a private jet.
Tubaigy began to cut Khashoggi’s body up on a table in the study while he was still alive, the Turkish source said.
The killing took seven minutes, the source said.
As he started to dismember the body, Tubaigy put on earphones and listened to music. He advised other members of the squad to do the same.

  3. Personally, I believe it is because anyone with a thinking, intelligent and human being – realize; this is not the path the Forefathers saw for this Nation. I have in the past voted for Republican candidates (waaaay back!) when they made sense! Now it seems our government of either party is in lock step with some agenda that says our (the People’s) voices do not count. This can only lead to one thing – those who are not capable or truly qualified leading the government, but are the puppets of something against our way of life(.) I don’t care if you are republican or democrat in claim: What matters is – do you believe the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence are the dream we still hold? If not – then you are not an American you are something that has crawled out of the enemies pile of lies! (I firmly believe it is because there is a mesh of backgrounding people that hold sway over the entirety of the House and Senate with blackmail. It is the only explanation of their treason!) And yes, I will go to the barricades should that come to be! And I am willing to put my life on the line for my Constitution and Declaration of Independence – I do it every day by standing up to tyranny! I wonder how many people out there worried about ‘what is going to happen to our government’ are realizing – nothing changes – UNLESS YOU CHANGE IT! – VOTE~!!! And vote for American Ideals not some perverts dream! P.S. Maybe those Republicans that are leaving should switch parties! Seems like a good idea to me…. ~8)

  4. Gingrich (who was denied tenure at West Georgia College) and his successors Trump and McConnell treat voters as widgets to be used and not as citizens to be served. I read recently that the difference between French and American voters is that the French politicians are scared of the French people and that the American people are scared of American politicians. The French people in 1789 and during the Reign of Terror gave their politicians and monarchists good reason to be permanently scared of “the people,” which may explain why general strikes in France succeed so often. Here we complain about Citizens United and tax codes among ourselves but our politicians are not scared of us and proceed to do their own thing as though we did not exist. Perhaps it’s time to construct miniature guillotines along the sidewalk of the Kremlin Annex and turn our Luddites loose on our robotized factories to remind our politicians that we and not they are (per Lincoln) sovereign.
